Glad to hear it on all counts. I had a chance to spy on the kitchen myself, and it looks like a suitable apology gift from the ship to us. Vance and I spoke, and he seems to be coping fairly well. No idea on Dimitri, but I'm happy to hear you two have reached an accord.

Rita most certainly deserved it, as she'll deserve any other whoopings she gets going forward. That girl needs to learn to keep her mouth shut.

I hope it's more good news, but for now, I'm on the promenade. Would you like to meet at my cabin instead?

Well, cat's out of the bag now. He told me the day we returned to the ship. I made the conscious decision to keep it from you and Ava in order to give you both time to recuperate. Well, and so she could plan her wedding in peace. I've only confirmed it with a few people when they asked me directly whether or not it was the case.

[there are only two people Skulduggery knows will take the news he learned from the Captain with little to no complaint. whether he's texting while on the bridge or not is up to the nebulous future of that thread, but in the meantime:]

I didn't ask for any details about the excursion itself, but I did ask about how to ensure we're generating enough power. Darcy, Phil and I discussed setting up some sort of rotation to ensure that people don't become completely burnt out by the excursions, which shouldn't affect the output. However, if we want our deaths to be useful, then quick and painless is out of the question. We're going to need to leave a mark.

I am curious, though. Are you concerned that people would think you're somebody different if they knew? Treat you like a new person, instead of the Undine they remember?

No, sort of the opposite. I don't think they could possibly see me as a new person. Their perception of who an Undine Wells is has been shaped by my previous existence here. To inform them I'm not BACK would rob them of some of the joy caused by seeing me return. The previous Undine is gone, will never be back, and they have me instead. But I'm good at being me, or at least I should be.

Just a heads up, there’s a new passenger here named Demona. Blue skin, big bat wings, red hair, turns to a statue during the day. She almost immediately tried to murder Darcy because he taped paper pigeons to her as a statue and is pretty literally genocidal towards humans. I had to intervene and pin her down before she stopped.

So. Keep an eye socket out. Hopefully she learns to play nice, because she’s not getting rid of any of us.

In case you're in your cabin, something ridiculous and potentially very stupid is happening on the decks.

For starters several people are setting fires everywhere, there's blood sigils, and posters declaring no rules are enforced anymore.

I'm not sure if they're trying to simulate a riot for a reason, or just for fun, but it's obnoxious if nothing else.

I noticed the commotion. It's odd. I thought most of the passengers liked Friday; why would they want to cause her so much grief?
