Silver cuff. He was able to use it to regain some partial memories of his past; stories of a village of magical beings being subjugated by humans. A tale as old as time, unfortunately, and it has some unsettling implications for what the future may bring.
Currently trying to figure out how this will affect things going forward. He is unwilling to let us go for entirely new reasons on top of the old ones, although theoretically, it would be possible. Our own times are out of the question, but other realities may be an option.
We're able to live here indefinitely so long as the Captain is alive, which means we have plenty of time to deliberate on our next course of action.
That may not help soothe anyone, but it's the truth. If anyone tries to give you trouble for your involvement, they can be directed my way. As it stands, I ought to thank you. You helped defuse the situation with Jenny and, if I'm not mistaken, you managed to get through the entire ordeal without being cursed. It was good work.
[Thank fuck this is a text otherwise Skulduggery would be witness to what that sort of praise does to him. He's absolutely preening, overwhelmed, full to the brim with emotion he can't put a name to. And an offer of protection? He's sent. You've fucking sent him.
Get your shit together, Israel, Jesus Christ.]
Didn't get cursed sir, no. Apparently I'm under divine protection, as far as their influence can reach, anyway.
Returning back to the exact moment where you were taken will result in oblivion. You will no longer exist; the version of yourself at home wouldn't remember anything of the Eterna or the people here. If you were to try returning to your world at a different point, you run the risk of meeting yourself, which could cause massive damage to all of reality, so it's generally inadvisable.
Now, for full disclosure, I don't believe that would work, and I'm almost positive that murdering yourself is bound to have more ramifications than living in the same reality as him... But I actually do wonder if that would work. I mean, if you did it very carefully, and made sure nobody saw you...
That's something to ask Ava. She's smarter than I am when it comes to multiple realities and paradoxes and all that.
[Begs the question, is anyone capable of killing Israel Hands but Israel Hands. He knows himself. but then would he detect himself. And would it go round and round and round forever until the universe imploded.
Hm.
No, he decides. This him would be better suited for it than that him. A fight would be a challenge, but stealth would work. He sleeps deeply. Too deeply. Anyone with alight foot and a sharp pair of shears could do the job. ]
I could do it.
Do you think we're still carrying on? At home I mean. am I still living my life there, just in another instance? Or has time ceased to move in my own life seeing as I'm here.
We are still carrying on at home. As far as your world is concerned, you're still doing whatever it is you're meant to do. I know this because at one point, I absorbed memories from a version of myself further along the timeline.
[Just don't ask how he took it, because the answer is: badly.]
It's a mixed blessing, and news that people react to with varying degrees of disbelief.

I think it's safe to say the cat is out of the bag on that one.
Jenny alone will make sure everyone knows who is responsible for her return.

How did it go, anyway. With the Captain? Which object was it?
