It can be hard to get anything useful out of her, but I think she means well. In a creepy way.
She told me some excursions sound fun. But you wouldn't know which is it until you're there.
I'm sure a lot of people will keep going.

How much do you trust her? Wouldn't she only tell you what the captain instructs her to?

I don't fully trust her, but I need SOMETHING to go by. The captain gets a kick of showing us how powerless we are, so why would he want us to know what pisses him off?

You're right. She's the only reliable access point for information.
It could be that he doesn't give her specific parameters. So she doesn't know what she can and can't share?
Does she often give you information voluntarily?

She knows. A lot of her answers are vague and you have to find the right question.
She said she has infinite copies. That's why she's everywhere all the time. And the off ship copies don't think much beyond the captain's directive.
